The present study studies the phenomenon of Corruption and whether it affects the economic growth of a country ,or in other words, the rate of change of the Gross Domestic Product. This research is carried out with a theoretical and statistical-econometric study. First, the concept of corruption is presented, the forms it takes, the causes that cause it as well as its general effects on the economy. Then, the concept of Gross National Product and economic growth is presented. In addition, some literature studies and research are presented that analyze the relationship between corruption and economic growth.
The bibliographic studies are checked with a statistical and econometric study, the results of which are in line with the bibliographic research as through the regression show that the ratio of GDP per capita is correlated with economic growth. To deepen the analysis, an explanatory variable is introduced, which is the legal system of the country.
