This study deals extensively with the relationship between Greece and its tourist product and Russian visitors who come every year to this. Russia is now a very dynamic and constantly rising world economic power, which Greece is required to fully exploit in order to enhance its competitive position in the tourism industry. The aim of the work is mainly to analyze the data in relation to the importance of the Greek tourism product, in relation to the increase in arrivals of Russian tourists.
The first chapter is a detailed reference to the Greek tourism product, to position the country in the world in terms of tourist capacity, but also in how competitive Greece, compared to neighboring countries, mainly enclosed in the Mediterranean . This first chapter ends with the depiction of the situation created in recent years in Greece and worldwide, regarding the financial crisis and whether it has affected the tourist mobility of individuals. The second chapter is included in the greatest possible resolution, a depiction of the Russian Republic and its citizens. Reference is made to the geographic, demographic and cultural characteristics with the country of Russia. Major share in consideration of capital takes into account and description of the profile of Russian tourists, where apart from the description of the profile, receive special attention and categorization of these tourists, taking into account various factors such as income, etc. This chapter continues with the analysis of the Russian outbound tourism trends are presented in recent years, making a small flashback to the fall of the Berlin Wall, up to date, while continuing with the outlook presented by the Russian tourism in the coming years. Finally, this chapter closes with the factors that may hinder any future displays of the Russian tourism industry, slowing its growth.
The study continues with the third chapter, which now focuses on the relationship between these two countries, Greece and Russia at the level of tourism. Recorded statistics for Russian incoming tourism in Greece, while contained and lists the requirements seem to have the Russians tourists from Greece, during their visit to that for the period of their holiday. The third chapter of the study concludes with a highly important and useful part, what the assessment of Greece as a tourist destination for Russians, through answering questionnaires. These questionnaires show that there is demand from Russian tourists to visit in Greece, and how they evaluate the products and services they receive during the holidays.
For the best possible presentation of results, presented in the first three chapters, mainly on theoretical level, it was also appropriate to analyze a case study (case study), a hotel group, with facilities in the areas of Crete, Rhodes and western Peloponnese. In the case study reported everything associated with this group of hotels (facilities, personnel, etc.), but also a variety of statistics, mainly arriving there by Russian tourists in the last decade, the revenue they bring, etc.
The study concludes with the conclusions derived from the above analysis, but the most important part were suggestions made for future consideration and perhaps for their promotion to each jurisdiction, which could help improve tourism relations between Greece and Russia.
