Emotions constitute a significant issue in adolescent’s everyday life, since a plethora of research findings highlights the important effects of them in the school and academic performance, the family and social relationships and the mental/physical health. The purpose of this master’s dissertation was to design an online course which focuses on the field of emotions and specifically in the Definition, Recognition, Expression of the feelings of anger, anxiety and sadness, as well as the Application of ways to cope with them in adolescents (12-18 years old). The focus on these three basic emotions was being considered as important, as in this age period, anger, anxiety and sadness are basic emotions, with which teenagers are often confronted with coping with the consequences of them in their personal lives. Specifically, in this master’s thesis, its purpose and the need of creation of this course focusing on strengthening of the emotional skills in the Greek school reality were analyzed. In addition, the utilization and the selection of a micro-MOOC course for these purposes and the design and the implementation of the course, which was conducted through Edunext: Open edX platform, were analyzed. Moreover, conclusions and suggestions for the improvement of this course were pointed out. The topics emerged through the design of this course aim to further focus on the education of adolescents regarding their emotional skills, so as to be more familiar with their emotions and be more prepared for the situations involving the management of emotions.
