Predicting stock prices is one of the most researched topics and attracts the interest of many scientists and investors. Accurately predicting stock market returns is a very difficult task due to the volatile and non-linear nature of financial markets. With the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and increased computing capabilities, many algorithms have been used to predict stock market movement. The combined application of machine learning (ML) algorithms and statistics is designed to predict the stock price the next day or to understand the long-term market in the future. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the different techniques used to predict stock prices from traditional deep learning and machine learning methods to neural networks and graph-based approaches. Even in this work forecasting techniques have been used to predict the closing price of the next day for five large companies. Finally, it contains a detailed analysis of the techniques used to predict stock prices as well as explores the challenges involved along with the future field of work in the sector.
