This paper is referring to the theory of strategy and more specifically, on the air transport
and the case study of Ryanair. In particular, the first chapter is focused in introducing the
reader to the theory of strategic management, by presenting its advantages and its various
aspects. In the next chapter there is an extensive analysis of the various strategies and most
importantly, of the business strategies and their importance in managing a business.
The third chapter presents the historical and economical data of the air transport industry,
since the beginning up to today, and its dependency from the Governments. The fourth
chapter underlines the strategic analysis of the industry of air transport, and the various
policies used, as well as the competition between the companies and the analysis of the
internal and external environment. Last but not least, the last chapter is focused on the
analysis of low cost strategy from airline companies, and in particular the case study of
Ryanair.
