In this paper we seek to systematically explore the solution space of a solvable nuclear war model
proposed by Norman C. Dalkey, for the various parameters that generate varying opposing side profiles.
In the process, we attempt to identify optimal warfighting strategies as these derive from the solution
space, examine the model’s basic premise that a mixed counterforce/countervalue targeting strategy is
viable, while proposing a slight variation of the model, one better reflecting the emerging multi-actor
global geopolitical domain.
