This thesis has as subject portable devices, that sprawl in our lives and we use them every day. The smartphones and tablets provide us with multiple functions that fulfill diverse needs of modern man. These functions are provided through the applications which are developed and the user can select and install them on the device. Initially an explanation of the features of Android, follows a historical report on the versions. The following are the software development tools for Android with particular emphasis on Google's App Inventor, which is the application development tool that we will see in this thesis. One purpose of this app is to show, how simple things are by programming with the App Inventor of Google. It analyzes the environment of App Inventor, how we programming Android apps and analyzed how powerful tool is in all fields.
