Abstract

This post-graduate dissertation deals with the construction of a tutoring system for learning the computing fundamentals. This educational system offers the possibility of students’ navigating freely to the chapters, evaluating their level of knowledge and being assisted in case of wrong answers, in a user friendly environment. Furthermore, the instructor (administrator) can add, remove or edit the theory and the exercises of each chapter via the authoring tool provided. Moreover, the students’ progress can easily monitored through the system. Conclusively, this dissertation is an effort towards the research area of “Informatics in Education”.
