This thesis focuses on the design and development of a complete online digital course, asynchronous and self-paced in form, with the aim of strengthening the digital competence “Active Participation in Society” (Competence 2.3 of the DigComp 2.2 European framework) at Basic Level 2. The necessity of cultivating this specific competence is highlighted by the central role that digital services occupy in everyday life, as well as by the importance of citizens’ active participation in the process of digital governance.
The digital course was designed on the basis of the microlearning approach, so that learning takes place through short and targeted units, facilitating the assimilation of knowledge by beginner adults. The content was organized into four micro-lessons and implemented on the Google Classroom platform, making use of multimodal digital media (presentations, videos, quizzes, simulation scenarios, self-assessment activities, and discussion forums). The active learning techniques that were applied aimed to create positive learning experiences and to strengthen learners’ autonomy.
The evaluation of the course was carried out on the basis of predefined instructional design criteria, highlighting its completeness, clarity, and suitability for the level to which it is addressed. Finally, conclusions and proposals are formulated for the future improvement of the course, with the aim of further enhancing the quality and accessibility of the learning experience.
