The objective of this postgraduate thesis is to design, develop and evaluate a digital course aimed at kindergarten teachers, with the aim of educating them in the responsible management of children's personal data, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Through practical activities and digital tools, kindergarten teachers will acquire knowledge and skills to effectively protect children's data, but also to educate toddlers themselves on personal data issues, enhancing their educational empowerment in the digital environment.
The learning outcomes of the digital course aim to enable kindergarten teachers to design and implement pedagogical activities that incorporate digital tools, preventing the disclosure of personal data, while at the same time promoting toddlers' learning and critical thinking. Understand and apply the legal requirements of the GDPR for the collection, processing and storage of personal data, ensuring compliance with regulations such as obtaining parental consent and data minimization. Develop daily data protection practices, such as storing data securely and avoiding sharing information on unsecured platforms, enhancing safety in the classroom. Guide and empower toddlers through age-appropriate activities (e.g. role-playing, storytelling, interactive tools such as Genially) to recognize, understand and protect their personal information, developing digital literacy and autonomy.
