This current thesis focuses first on the theoretical presentation and then on the practical application of the main and widely used strategic tools and methods in three leading Greek companies, all of which operate in different industries. Specifically in the Food (Biscuits/Snacks), the Pharmaceutical, and the Passenger Shipping Industry. In this thesis a multitude of tools is used, such as SWOT analysis, PEST analysis, Porter's 5 Forces analysis, Value Chain, and Resources & Capabilities Theory, to analyze the internal and external environment. Furthermore, this thesis elaborates on the mission, the goals/objectives and the corporate & business strategies, implemented by these businesses. The findings after the detailed analysis of the entire strategic planning process in all three companies, as well as the comparative analysis that follows between the industries, show that there are not only differences but also points of convergence in external (indirect & direct) and internal environment and strategy formulation.
