The need for reorganisation has been driven by the increasing focus in recent years on automation, reorganisation and rationalisation of tasks that could potentially affect the cost of services and/or products. These factors have a direct impact on increasing competition and the shift towards a customer-centric approach. This shift in organisational structure and processes can be described as reorganisation, although it lacks some of the key elements necessary for effective reorganisation and redesign. A variety of processes have been launched to improve management practices and promote adaptability in a dynamic business environment. These initiatives have led to methodologies such as Total Quality Management, Business Process Redesign and Restructuring, which aim to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
This research attempts to explore the determinants that shape the process of business process redesign, including both the challenges associated with implementation and the factors that contribute to potential shortcomings. It delves into the critical success factors associated with business process redesign, highlighting the crucial role of change management in ensuring the effectiveness of the whole exercise.
To gain deeper insight into the importance of business process redesign, a detailed case study is presented that clarifies existing processes while suggesting essential changes that could lead to improved results. This case study offers a practical illustration of how organizations can navigate the complexities of restructuring their operations to align with evolving market demands and consumer expectations. Through a comprehensive examination of these aspects, this study aims to provide valuable insights into the strategies underlying successful business process redesign initiatives.
