The present master's thesis is the result of a literature review of Greek and English sources, focusing on the mapping and analysis of the technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution used in the agri-food supply chain. The aim of the thesis is for the reader to gain a comprehensive understanding of the state of technology implementation in the value chain links of the agri-food sector, with a focus on the Greek market. Initially, fundamental concepts such as Supply Chain and its management, logistics, and the Supply Chain of agri-food products are described and analyzed. Subsequent chapters discuss the main technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution (Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, Advanced Analytics, Robots, Cobots, Drones, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Blockchain, Augmented and Virtual Reality, Digital Twin), followed by an analysis of some of these technologies and their connection to the agri-food supply chain through examples of their application. Reference is also made to research conducted in Greek businesses operating in the food supply sector as well as in other sectors. These studies aim to investigate the extent of implementation of new technologies in the supply chain links and the reasons why companies either adopt or do not adopt these new technologies. Finally, the thesis concludes with conclusions outlining the strengths, opportunities, weaknesses, and threats of the agri-food sector, leading to some recommendations.
