The present thesis aims to study the tourism potential of the islands of the North Aegean and more specifically the island of Lemnos. After referring to the basic concepts of tourism and the principles of marketing, an analysis of the basic tourism elements, supply and demand of the destinations is made. Initially, a reference is made to the tourism figures of Greece, then the research specializes in the tourism data for the North Aegean region and finally it delves specifically into Lemnos.
For the analysis of tourism on the island, a competition analysis was carried out, the services and attractions provided on the island were evaluated based on the 6A analysis. Finally, a survey was conducted with two questionnaires distributed to the tourists who have visited the island and to the tourism professionals of the island in order to compare the tourists' view of their experience on the island with that of the tourism professionals of the island. Finally, based on the survey and the results obtained from the questionnaires, conclusions were drawn and suggestions were formulated to help in the better promotion of the tourism product of Lemnos and the optimal management of the island's tourism product.
