The preparation of this thesis aims at the thorough analysis of the tourism sector both at the national and international level, as well as its evolution after the pandemic.
The study begins with a conceptual approach to tourism, accompanied by a historical review. There, the roots, advantages and disadvantages of the branch, as well as its most popular forms in the past and today, will be analyzed in a theoretical framework. Based on these, a reference will be made regarding the tourism data that prevail in our country, and are the foundation of its economic development.
Then, the issue of the Covid-19 pandemic is raised, the effects of which caused a total readjustment at the tourist - and not only - level, disrupting the existing balances worldwide and thus creating new tourist trends, worthy of consideration. In this way, society takes on an unprecedented form, and new aspects of the industry are observed, which are inconceivable for the older data.
Based on the above, the alternative forms that emerge around tourism immediately after the outbreak of the pandemic, based on the needs and preferences of travelers, will be determined. These forms are an extension of some particularly widespread trends adopted by society after the lifting of the global confinement, and overwhelm the interest of countless tourists.
Subsequently, in order to find and distinguish these forms, the selected research methodology will be presented, modern electronic tools will be used and results will be examined through which their main characteristics, their popularity, as well as the profile of the people will be highlighted who support them.
Finally, proposals based on the results obtained from the above research will be formulated, particularly useful for clarifying the new perspectives emerging in the tourism industry. In this way, the market, which consists of both tourism businesses and tourist destinations, will operate in a more targeted way, now understanding the existing conditions in depth.
