Abstract

This master's thesis deals with the creation and development of an android tourist application. More specifically, this application has as its main objective the facilitation of external visitors in various regions of our country, as well as the development of domestic tourism. It provides the user with a long list of many attractions throughout Greece, as well as the city/region in which each one is located. In addition, depending on his location, the user will be able to easily and quickly find the nearest attraction to visit. The application provides both image recognition and text extraction functions from an image. This text will be able to be translated into other languages, in general the application supports 4 different languages. For the implementation of the thesis, the Android Studio 2021 program was used, to write the code in the Java programming language, various functions of the ML Kit provided by Google, Firebase was used as a database.
