The educational use of Minecraft in the field of theatrical education
Nowadays’ reality has been the start kick – off of our total integration into the digital era. The Internet provides us with a great number of applications which we can use in different sectors of our everyday life, such as the education. The compulsory use of digital tools in the educational procedures in order to succeed in distance learning was unexpected and a great number of educators were unprepared for this. However, that has been the start of educators’ professional occupation with innovative teaching methods which are in accordance with the requirements of our time. A new combination of digital technology and education is gaining ground rapidly proving that this great potential which is provided by the digital tools and, more specifically, the digital games to transmit our culture in this is possible to come true. This innovative use of the videogame “Minecraft” in the subject of Theatrical Education in order to promote an original educational procedure through this academic project proved that there is a bidirectional connection between these digital tools and the education of art and cultural heritage. This practical use of digital tools on the subject of Theatrical Education is completed by the use of survey questionnaires so as to understand and define the value of the use of digital tools during the learning procedure.
