In this Master thesis, the ultimate aim was to capture in the most accurate and comprehensive way the concept of inclusion in Higher Education in Greece. In this direction, the methodological framework was built in the first chapter, which was based on a critical review of domestic and international academic and scientific literature and articles, without a detailed presentation of the current case law. More specifically, in the second chapter, concepts related to inclusive education are reported and analyzed, such as social exclusion, new reality of inclusion, social inclusion and social cohesion. The historical development of the inclusive integration of people with disabilities plays a significant role in the analysis of this chapter. Moreover, the third chapter consists of a more general review of the literature regarding the determinants of inequalities found in the Greek Higher Education Institutions as well as which is the reality at the international level. The fourth chapter reflects the Greek reality and how people with disabilities can join Higher Education. In particular, both the regulations regarding accessibility and their inclusion in teaching are analyzed and recorded. Finally, in the fifth chapter, proposals are included in order to improve the inclusion in Higher Education but also to immediately understand the need that exists to address the social exclusion of people with disabilities from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
