This paper presents the relationship between the level of emotional intelligence and the academic performance of students. The work is structured in two parts, the theoretical presentation of the relationship between emotional intelligence and academic performance and the case study of students at the fifth grade of a Greek elementary public school. The "The Bar-On Emotional Quotient Inventory" questionnaire (EQ-i) will be used to measure students’ emotional intelligence. The average score of the students’ grades during the school year 2020-2021 will be used to measure the performance.
