In Diploma Thesis, we will refer to outsourcing operation by focusing on information security. Nowadays Information security is one of the biggest risks for organizations. This is due to the high degree of trust of organizations in external providers, who are responsible not only for the management of outsourced services and corporate data, but also for the management of information security services. The outsourcing decision must be based on a substantiated analysis and a specific methodology. Organizations before deciding to outsource to an external provider must answer very important questions concerning themselves and the external providers. In this thesis, we will refer to the usefulness of outsourcing and describe the costs and benefits of the outsourcing process. We will analyze the risks that organizations are called upon to address and expand on the threats to information security. Next, we will evaluate the suitability of the outsourcing and determine the requirements and the main criteria for a successful and secure outsourcing. In conclusion, we will describe the security outsourcing functions and suggest an eighteen-step process that organizations must follow from the beginning to the end of a secure outsourcing.
