Abstract
This dissertation work aims to the implementation of an electronic advertising exchange network using the typical web sites advertisement mechanism of banners. The network is a digital cooperative of sites ("publishers") who have advertising space on their website (banners) to host ads. These ads may be either the products of other members free of charge as the member's own advertising will be displayed on the other members' banners equally. Alternatively, banners can host non-member ads, so in this case they receive a fee to be shared.
The platform takes advantage of the capabilities of the Java programming language to implement a Java framework that allows new ads to be posted to the platform database and to manage their dyanmic view based on certain attributes that we propose in this dissertation: product / service category, pricing policy based on various criteria, and more.
We also define the process that coordinates the dynamic ad appearance to cooperative sites. When a client visits one of the network sites, the platform receives an ad request: the platform will propose an ad that matches the equal-sharing strategy of the ad appearances of all members. And beyond that, the increase in the time for a member to be shown is determined by the extra charge agreed. It also determines the time of non-member ad promotion.
