Eye tracking as an input for passive interaction in interactive narration
View/ Open
Abstract
The measurement of physiological arousal can be a useful tool for interactive narrative designers, as it is an index for both cognitive workload and emotional state. The implementation of such measurement in an interactive narration system can aid the designers in providing rich experiences by giving them the ability to adjust the content of the narration based on users’ states. The use of an eye tracking device in order to measure physiological arousal is an interesting prospect because it has minimum level of interference during the narration and the results of this study show the capability of the method for real time estimations.
