Greece from ancient times until today had a long tradition in medicine The current reality reveals the importance of this sector and the need for better quality management, production for both the patient and the hospital staff. The quality in health is a concept that is constantly varied, changing and adapting to new expectations and needs. This paper aims to highlight the importance of certification at a Blood laboratory and every medical laboratory. In a place where every mistake can be fatal quality is much more than just one certificate of proper working and a competitive advantage. It is the assurance for each employee and each patient that the safety meter are such that the results are always right. The study contains six chapters and is divided into two main parts: the theoretical and research review, with a central premise that quality is a strategic issue that permeates all the functions of each unit of medical services. At the theoretical part is made an overview of what is quality and what areas contains. The second chapter describes the creation of a quality system, the eight principles and the impact of quality in health service. In the second, research part of the study the preparation for certification EN ISO/2008 in a public hospital blood laboratory, is analyzed. The third chapter analyzes the differences between certification and accreditation, the laboratory accreditation standards and the guidelines of the workshops. The fourth chapter is a presentation of blood laboratory, the purpose and the cost of implementing a quality management plan. Then the next chapter studies the development phases of the project management quality of the laboratory leading up to certification. The sixth chapter, as an epilogue of the study, presents the results of implementing quality management in laboratory blood and the benefits from it.
