The purpose of this work is first to specify that different purpose is the certification process, elsewhere the effort is aimed to win the aims of one of the Spotlight on Quality and other objectives are pursued through the application of TQM models for continuous improvement. Then, the purpose of this paper is to highlight the need nowadays to Implement Quality Management System in the field of health services in general and especially in clinical laboratories and the certification and accreditation of these distinguished from official bodies. For this purpose, gathered the necessary bibliographic material and made introductory presentation levels of recognition of business excellence, based at the European Business Excellence Model of EFQM and the fundamental concepts of excellence. The following are the benefits of having a health agency to install a Quality Management System and the key steps and stages of development of such a system for certification of clinical laboratories in general and hematology laboratory in particular. The analysis of the basic requirements of standard ISO 9001:2008 and procedures and the stages of preparation and analysis of the quality system for accreditation of clinical laboratories. Finally it was necessary to mention in detail issues such as traceability and thus the calibration. Criteria necessary to ensure the quality and reliability of processes and measurements are also fundamental requirements of the standard ELOT ISO 15189:2007 accreditation for technical competence of clinical laboratories.
