The objective of this work is the presentation of social network analysis process. The study and analysis applications of social networks, covering a broad area, which not only promote products and services, and the organization of information and knowledge.
The tool selected and analyzed is NodeXL, which allows the collection, analysis and mapping information from various social networks. The NodeXL proved satisfactory and friendly. A free, can be applied to all social networks, from any computer. It connects directly to the data of social networks, implemented on a small, medium, and large networks, however, preferred to use in small and medium networks due to faster response. The options for creating charts are many and calculates several metrics whose analysis leads to reliable conclusions.
The visualization and data analysis of social networks, like Facebook, the network of links and YouTube with NodeXL give information on the type of network, the role of the user, the significance of and relationships with others.
The case study conducted focused on YouTube network because of its peculiarities. It's simple, widespread. Supports creativity. The users can have a dual role, be friends and subscribers. It is accepted promotional tool. The network studied and analyzed belongs to the user with username "techteamgr". The analysis was done with NodeXL tool designed to find relevant, important users of this network both in graph analysis and by calculating metrics. To define their position in the network, their role and the degree of their impact on others. The processing of the original graph with options such as eliminating duplicate records and «lay out» shaped graph, so it can easily be observed and revealed the relationship of users. The calculation of metrics such as betweennness centrality, the degree centrality of in-degree and out-degree and subscribers defined the major users.
These users are important because they can transmit information quickly, massively and remote subnets.
The rapid and massive transmission can serve advertising, consumer product, contribute to the spread of negative beliefs and attitudes, racism intimidation but also contribute to the spread of positive beliefs and attitudes, raising environmental awareness, health education, cooperation, defending human rights. These are all little before many positives that could be drawn from the broad transmission right messages and standards certainly not superfluous in our society.
