Keystroke dynamics is a biometric feature whose fundamental characteristics are the duration of each keystroke and the latency between two successive keystrokes. These characteristics are affected by many factors relating to either the environment or the psychological and emotional state of the individual. The keystrokes latencies between different digraphs differ when these factors remain constant. The purpose of this thesis is to study the factors that modulate the keystroke latency different digraphs when the environmental conditions and the emotional and psychological state of the individual remain constant. For this purpose we designed and implemented application for the collection of users typing data and the appropriate transformation for the subsequent statistical processing. The application was installed on the computers of 1st ΕΠΑΛ Kaisarianis’ computer lab and used by 9 students of this school who voluntarily participated in the survey. The results of the survey-study conducted in this master thesis led to some very useful information, but also gave birth to new and more interesting questions.
