Abstract

Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are used in education both by teachers (computational teaching support) and by trainees (computational learning support) with purpose to support and improve the processes of teaching and learning. The existence of a large number of applications and systems for educational use, as well as the effort to create new and effective systems is owed in the multiple possibilities and advantages offered by ICT as well as in the permanent technological development. The modern trend is to use the Internet and World Wide Web as technological infrastructure for creating innovative, open, flexible and efficient education systems with base modern theories of learning and needs of current season that focus in the educational material (Learning Management Systems) but also in the instructive and learning effort (Adaptive Educational Systems). In this context we created and present a prototype Adaptive Courses Management System via which the educational process is individualized with base the level of knowledge and the needs of trainees. Particular emphasis was given in the support of teacher for the creation, management and supervising completed adaptive courses and participating in them, as can be the trainee the centre of the educational process, but the teacher is the base and the starting point for effective and modern education according to the spirit and the needs of current season through new roles that it is called to play.
