The main target of this survey is to give probable solutions to the question how much the bank concentration affects the level of competitiveness on the evidence of the empirical economic analysis. The empirical investigation of the impact of the bank concentration in a sample of the 44 biggest banks from Greece and Belgium concludes that the concentration doesn’t reduce the competitiveness of the banking sector.
