Abstract

The goal of this master thesis is the development and parameterization of an integrated system for the conduct of polls with the use and the exploitation of web services and telephones using the latest information technologies. Internet technologies have been rendered in the conscience of many persons and the overwhelming majority of the new generation as a source but also as a deposit of knowledge, a way of communication but also of entertainment and consequently they are used. Their utilization for the realization of opens new ways in the sector regarding the creation of wider and more representative samples and the possibility of using multimedia material as part of the questionnaires. Moreover the use of telephones that use of information technologies (voice recognition) functions in favor of the direct contact to the participant of something that is very important particularly in polls of "real time". The conduct of polls could be considered as one of the ways in which the person tries to increase but also to improve the "quality of" knowledge that he possesses. The frequency in which the polls are carried out as well as the continuous efforts for the improvement of the effectiveness of the techniques used, testify how important the acquiring of such type of information is currently considered. Consequently, various techniques have been developed for the realization of polls which are mainly dependent on random telephone calls or personal interviews. In the framework of this masters a completed system for conducting polls based on the use of the platform CATI (Computer Aided Telephone Interviews) Αsterisk VOIP Server Vicidial Predictive Dilaer, Mysql Database, Web interface, message and sppss to manage and mine the statistical data.
