Abstract
The transmission of bank credit shocks stands these days in the foremost of scientific attention at universal level due to the radical and influential results that has brought about to our modern world in the light of the current financial crisis. The present study initially undertakes a critical review of the research in this specific scientific field and places at the heart of interest Greece, studying the presence of the major Greek banks in SE Europe and the interactions between parent and subsidiaries through the crisis transmission channels and specifically, the lending one. The empirical results show a strong correlation between the applied lending policies of the major Greek bank groups, documenting the significance of the transmission channels of bank credit shocks in the contemporary economic reality.
