Abstract
Nowadays, wireless sensor networks constitute a much promising research area in the field of wireless communications, due to the large number of applications they can facilitate. Nevertheless, the nodes of a WSN have to follow certain functional and design limitations. They have limited energy storage, memory, computing resources and transmission power. All these factors create new challenges and objects for research with the aim to improve the efficiency of the network. Such an object of research is the connection of the whole network, a key to the ability to communicate among the nodes and to the exchange of information during the event. In the present postgraduate thesis they are presented and evaluated initially the hierarchical routing protocols, a category of wireless sensor networks protocols which applies a technique of hierarchical routing so that establish the communication in the network. Then are presented and evaluated the multipath routing protocols. These protocols present a technique of multiple routing for better reliability of network. Finally is presented a new approach of hierarchical routing protocol with influences from multipath protocols for uniform distribution and consumption of energy.
