ΗγεσίαAbstract
This study comparatively examines the leadership models of Vladimir Putin and
Barack Obama. It focuses on the analysis of political leadership and strategic power
within the contemporary international system. The two leaders originate from
different political and institutional environments, a fact that influences the way they
exercise power. The analysis is situated within the framework of major leadership and
international relations theories. Particular emphasis is placed on the significance of
leadership in shaping domestic political stability and international influence.
Furthermore, the role of strategic power as a key instrument of political action is
examined. The study is not limited to a descriptive presentation of the two leaders but
seeks to place them within broader theoretical frameworks. In addition, it highlights
that leadership choices and strategies of power shape wider conditions of political and
economic stability, which, among other things, affect the development environment of
sectors such as tourism. The study also underlines the value of comparative analysis
for understanding contemporary political reality.
The findings indicate that Vladimir Putin and Barack Obama represent two distinct
approaches to political leadership and the exercise of strategic power. Putin is more
closely associated with a centralized conception of authority and the use of hard
power as a means of strengthening the state's position, whereas Obama placed greater
emphasis on diplomacy, cooperation, and the projection of soft power. Equally
important is the finding that the effectiveness of each leadership model cannot be
assessed independently of the political and international context within which it
operates. Finally, the study highlights the decisive role of leadership personality and
political rhetoric in shaping strategic choices and a state's international presence.
