The rapid growth of online health content has improved public access to medical information, but it has also increased the risk of misinformation, poor usability, and non-personalized guidance. This thesis presents the design and implementation this web-based medical information platform that combines structured drug information retrieval with profile-aware recommendation functionality in a secure and multilingual environment.
The system is developed using a layered architecture that separates presentation, business logic, and data access concerns. On the backend, a Java Spring Boot framework is used to implement controllers, services, and repositories, while the frontend is delivered through server-side rendered templates for responsive and maintainable interaction flows. The platform includes user profile management, drug search and detail pages, personalized recommendations, and basic safety-oriented checks such as user-specific warnings. Security is implemented through authentication and password protection mechanisms, and localization is supported through English and Greek language resources.
