This thesis examines the selection of the optimal location for establishing a metal finishing electroplating workshop in the Attica region, considering strategic, economic, environmental, and social factors. Location selection is a critical managerial decision, as it directly affects operational efficiency, safety, and long-term sustainability. The study outlines the fundamental principles of metal finishing processes, along with the required equipment, infrastructure, and applicable legislative and regulatory framework, including health and safety requirements. It also reviews current trends and future prospects of the industry, highlighting key factors that influence competitiveness. A multi-criteria decision-making approach is applied to evaluate alternative locations. The main criteria include safety, accessibility, infrastructure availability, proximity to customers and suppliers, and installation cost. The Best–Worst Method (BWM) is used to determine the relative importance of the criteria, while TOPSIS is employed to rank the alternatives. The results indicate that compliance with legislation is the most significant factor among the evaluated criteria. Based on the analysis, the Paiania–Koropi area is identified as the most suitable location under current conditions.
