Work-Life Balance emerges as a fundamental issue in contemporary professional
reality, directly impacting individuals' well-being and organizational effectiveness.
Particularly for career women, managing multiple roles, professional, personal, and
family often creates pressures and challenges in achieving this balance.
The present postgraduate dissertation primarily aims to investigate the work-life
balance of career women in Greece, focusing on the differentiations between the
private and public sectors. Through the analysis of relevant theoretical approaches
and the historical overview of the concept, this study aspires to highlight the
factors influencing work-life balance, the coping strategies adopted by women,
and the organizational policies implemented in both sectors. The research seeks to
identify any differences in experiences, difficulties, and opportunities faced by
career women depending on their employment sector.
The expected findings will offer valuable insights into the complexity of work
life balance for career women, contributing to a better understanding of their
specific needs. This study aims to provide well-founded recommendations for the
formulation of more effective policies and practices at organizational and societal
levels, with the goal of supporting women in achieving a healthier and more
sustainable balance between professional and personal life.
