This master’s thesis focuses on the development and implementation of an Android application that serves as a Digital Agri-tourism Guide. The application is aimed at tourists visiting Greece to enjoy the agro-tourism experience. Upon registering, users can locate on the map of Greece—by selecting the appropriate category—various farms, the organization of local festivals related to traditional products, as well as workshops on traditional products. They can also choose to display these locations based on their distance from the user’s current location and on the overall rating each location has received from users. In addition, users can add locations to Favorites and later view a list of their favorite places. The application also targets users who wish to register and showcase their own location by entering the required information, and who may modify this information or delete the location altogether. The application’s improvement is driven by a continuously growing number of users. For the implementation, the Android Studio environment was used, with Java for the Backend, XML for the frontend, and Firebase was used as the database.
