In this specific diploma thesis, a digital course on volunteerism and the importance
of giving will be designed and presented around the institution of voluntary blood
donation. The design and implementation of the course was based on Gagné’s 9
steps and his education theory. This particular theory is based on the fact that in
order to impress knowledge, especially on issues of life attitudes, examples to
imitate, examples from everyday life, and convincing arguments are needed for the
creation or cultivation of a life attitude.
Initially, a theoretical analysis of the specific institution will be carried out. The
definition will be presented to understand the magnitude of the importance of the
specific topic where it was chosen. Then, some theoretical elements will be
analyzed, such as the blood needs of Greece, the factors where Greece is more
vulnerable compared to other countries due to its geographical location and the
diseases that affect its citizens. The blood donation process will also be mentioned
in order to clarify the process and dispel prejudices and fears. And this specific
chapter of the theoretical framework will close with the stations and points where
someone can donate blood voluntarily and with some percentages and diagrams
where each hospital in Attica meets this offer.
This will be followed by a presentation and report on the design and
implementation process of the digital course. An analysis will be made of the
theoretical educational approach chosen, the intended educational objectives and
the expected learning outcomes that learners should obtain through the
completion of this specific program. Screenshots and instructions for using the
digital platform will also be presented with the aim of achieving the best
educational experience.
Finally, the results and conclusions of the work will be presented, similar
educational programs will be mentioned, and the final evaluation of the specific
educational program will be presented.
