The present thesis focuses on the design, development, and evaluation of training materials that support the responsible integration of artificial intelligence (AI) tools by primary school teachers. The rapid expansion of generative AI in education creates opportunities for differentiated instruction, enriched learning, and enhanced formative assessment, while simultaneously raising issues of pedagogical appropriateness, cognitive load, ethics, and transparency. To address these needs, a wiki was designed and implemented in Moodle via NWiki, serving both as a training repository and as a space for professional learning and reflection.
The theoretical foundation of the study is based on the models of constructive alignment and backward design, the TPACK and SAMR frameworks, as well as principles of cognitive load theory, multimedia learning, and formative assessment. The wiki includes guides, activities, multimedia resources, and assessment rubrics organized around five key AI tools: MagicSchool.ai (lesson planning support), Canva Magic Design (visualizations and presentations), Quizizz and Edpuzzle (interactive and game-based assessment), and Pictory.ai (short video creation and feedback). Additionally, Quick, Draw! was used as an introductory activity to familiarize teachers with basic principles of machine learning in a playful way.
The evaluation of the wiki, conducted with a standardized rubric, highlighted its usability, accessibility, and sustainability. The findings confirmed that the pedagogically sound use of AI tools can significantly enhance instructional design when framed by clear objectives, critical reflection, formative assessment, and continuous professional development of teachers.
