In the modern educational reality, one of the most topical issues is the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools into teaching practice. Their use creates new possibilities but at the same time challenges, as it transforms the way in which teachers design and implement their lessons. The aim of this thesis is to critically evaluate three such tools: Brisk Teaching, Magic School AI and ChatGPT, with an emphasis on their ability to create lesson plans for the unit of probability in 5th grade Mathematics.
The evaluation was carried out using analytical rubric based on pedagogical models, the Cadmos tool rubric, Bloom's Taxonomy, the TPACK framework, Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and the principle of constructive alignment. The results showed that AI tools can substantially support the instructional design process, producing lesson plans in a fast and organized manner. However, some limitations were also found, mainly in terms of the way technology is integrated into the produced plans, but also in terms of the differences presented in free and paid programs. The study concludes that AI tools can enhance the effectiveness of teaching, provided that they are used with evidence-based pedagogical decisions by teachers.
At the same time, within the framework of the diploma thesis, digital educational material was developed, which is addressed to teachers and presents the operation of the tools, highlights advantages and limitations and offers a comparative assessment of the lesson plans and their capabilities. This material was organized in a virtual teaching environment in Google Classroom, where the lesson plans, videos with step-by-step presentation and comparison of the tools, as well as evaluation activities were integrated. Through this structure, the findings of the comparative study are summarized, making it easier for the teacher to understand which tool is most suitable for each specific teaching need.
