Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming, increasingly essential in our daily lives, so educators need to know how to use it properly in the classroom. This master's thesis, aims to create a digital course that will help primary and secondary school teachers learn what Artificial Intelligence is and how it can be used in education and eTwinning programs.
The course, is divided into four micro-courses, each lasting three hours, so that learners can easily follow it at their own pace. Each micro-course consists of two learning outcomes, i.e. 8 learning outcomes for 4 micro-courses. The learning outcomes of the course, are to teach learners the basic concepts of Artificial Intelligence, how to use chatbots and correct prompts, how to create material with images and videos with the help of Artificial Intelligence, how to modify and adapt the course's educational material to better suit the course and the students, how to apply Artificial Intelligence tools in course redesign and, finally, how to use Artificial Intelligence tools in student assessment. The course, is based on the European digital skills standard - DigCompEdu 2.2 as well as the AI Literacy Framework (AILit Framework) and emphasizes practical application. The aim is to offer learners simple, modern, and useful training that they can immediately apply in their teaching. The final assessment at the end of the course, consists of 40 multiple-choice questions and evaluates the trainees' ability to apply the knowledge they have acquired in practice.
