This master's thesis presents the development of an Android
application titled "Android Auto", focusing on navigation and
driving behavior tracking. The main goal is to provide a
userfriendly and intuitive interface that supports drivers during
their trips by offering real-time navigation guidance and driving
behavior insights.
The application records data such as acceleration, deceleration,
speeding, and potential road hazards, while also supporting
voice search. It leverages GPS, device sensors, and internet
connectivity, with cloud integration to share useful driving data
with other users. Users can create and store profiles (with email
or via Google) for quick access and personalized settings using a
local DataBase.
Developed using object-oriented Java programming in Android
Studio, the application emphasizes simplicity, safety, and
usability for drivers. The thesis includes requirements analysis,
system design following the RUP methodology, and a
comparative study of existing solutions such as Google Maps,
Sygic, and Maps.me.
