This thesis explores the connection between organizational characteristics and the
problem of burnout in Greek society in order to comprehend the elements that affect
job satisfaction, work-life balance, and employees' mental health. A questionnaire that
was made available online via the LinkedIn social media platform was used to gather
data, and the sample was composed of workers in Greece from a variety of professional
backgrounds.
The analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis
(Pearson and Spearman) and stepwise regression to test the main hypothesis that at
least one organizational factor contributes significantly to the occurrence of burnout.
The results showed that workplace support shows a strong negative association with
burnout, while work interference in personal life shows a strong positive association,
jointly explaining 47.6% of the variance of the phenomenon. The findings highlight
the importance of enhancing work support and reducing work interference as key
measures to prevent burnout, offering useful directions for both academic research and
organizational practice in Greece.
