This master’s thesis aims to design and implement, of an educational
intervention that utilizes digital escape rooms as a tool to support game-based learning
in the subject of history for third-grade students of the Greek Primary School. The digital
escape room, titled "Heracles: A Hero is Born," was created using the Genial.ly tool and
aims to enhance students' active participation, foster critical thinking, encourage
engagement in the learning process, and promote collaboration among them. An initial
evaluation was also conducted with a small group of students to collect their initial
impressions regarding the intervention.
