The aim of this thesis is to develop a tool to assist researchers and intelligence analysts by automating methods for collecting and analysing information from open sources (OSINT). The tool attempts to apply methodologies used by researchers and intelligence analysts, but in an automated way, with the ultimate goal of saving time and resources. The first chapter reviews various techniques and methodologies used to perform OSINT in an automated manner. The second chapter analyses the structure and operation of the tool developed in the context of the project and presents a representative flow chart and technical details of its implementation. In the third chapter, the implemented tool is compared to other tools with similar objectives and the innovations it introduces in comparison to them are mentioned. In the fourth chapter, the functionality of the tool is presented in detail in terms of the different possible inputs and the corresponding outputs presented to the user at the end of the execution. To achieve this, the tool is run with input data corresponding to real targets. To protect the privacy of these targets, the outputs are partially obscured so that they cannot be identified. Chapter five discusses the challenges in implementing and using tools to automate OSINT methodologies, as well as future directions in which the development of the implemented tool can and will go. The findings of the thesis demonstrate that the use of OSINT methodology automation tools can significantly reduce the time and resources required for modern open source-based research and analysis. At the same time, they establish the context that needs to be taken seriously when conducting such research and analysis.
