The purpose of this master’s thesis is to analyze the folds of the digital transformation and specifically, the digitization of technology, concerning the human resources management and how much it was affected by the pandemic of COVID-19.
The digital transformation has influenced all the enterprises all over the world and it usually has a positive sign. The enterprises increase their profits via digitization of technology, decrease the operating expenses of the corporation and inspect the employee efficiency in a more suitable way. Clearly, the firms must afford all the resources and invest in technology through the acquisition of the appropriate equipment, as well as through the acquisition of the specialized staff. Nevertheless, this venture can bring about profits immediately. The quality of the human resources plays a significant role for the successful development of a company. For this reason, the big companies aim at the investment of capable and talented employees who are able to adapt to the new conditions.
The gradual digital transformation was inevitable. However, COVID-19 accelerated the progress. As the pandemic abates, it would be beneficial for the enterprises to assess the consequences it caused and to define the advantages and disadvantages in order to make their strategy.
In the first chapter, digitization is analyzed alongside with several useful information. In the second chapter, the definition of human resources management and the definition of strategy are analyzed, as well as the goals, the operations and the significance of the appropriate staff of a company. In the third chapter, the relation of digitization and human resources management is indicated. In the fourth and last chapter, it is recorded the period of COVID-19 and the impact it had both for enterprises and employees.
