Cultural Heritage represents an invaluable global resource and becomes increasingly important when integrated into the digital ecosystem of a smart city. The main goal is to create a conceptual and technological framework and experience personalized interactive stories with cultural content, through the analysis of cultural experience, based on a large amount of data (Big Data) through BIM (Building Information Model) and technologies such as AI and Blockchain, technologies that are the drivers from the current Internet to the Metaverse. The purpose of the research is to understand the effect of digital technology on architectural creation. The boundaries between the virtual and the physical world, which have almost dissolved, raise the question of how architecture can adopt digital technology. Nowadays, large sums are spent on making cities more sustainable. The discussion today is how the metaverse could change our relationships with urban spaces and in our case with cultural spaces, and gives us the opportunity to imagine what the cities and buildings of tomorrow might look like. The Metaverse, interpreted as an isolated virtual universe, is now evolving into a multiverse, where virtual worlds take precedence over the real one. Places, people and activities, both in the physical and virtual worlds, are to be integrated.
The purpose of this paper is to focus on the use of new technologies, no longer as a new means of representation but as a change in the architectural space, with a case study of a museum space. More specifically, we will attempt to create a narrative of the "transformation" of the Greek National Opera in its museum spase. The exhibits will be the performances and people of the National Opera. The National Opera will be turned into an exhibition space and its performances into an exhibit. The production of new "spaces" is the result of all kinds of technology and digital media and turns the building into a "building-platform".
