Abstract

he dissertation paper focuses on the overview of two key issues of our times a) the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) b) the impact of the covid-19 pandemic on the General Data Protection Regulation. Having examined the existing literature and the current researches, this dissertation paper attempts to approach and interpret these crucial issues. The most significant conclusions mentioned in the paper in request have been emerged from the research carried out today. The latter has been achieved through the review of the existing literature both domestically and globally, providing its readers with the possibility to understand the content and essence of the GDPR, as well as to "perceive" the current developments. The existence of the covid 19 pandemic is the only criterion to assess and evaluate the topics mentioned above, as its extent and range are liable to affect in a decisive way the implementation of GDPR. In this light, it becomes obvious that the impact of the pandemic entails specific risks hindering, as well as undermining the effective implementation of the GDPR, while in parallel alluring the research interest of the scientific and professional community.
