The present thesis examines the feasibility of building a luxury hotel unit on the island of Mykonos. More specifically, the contribution of tourism to the GDP of the global, European and domestic market is studied in depth. It also focuses on the tourism sector and the development of the hotel potential in the South Aegean region and especially on the island of Mykonos where the investment will take place. In addition, the identity of the hotel unit is determined and the marketing plan, marketing mix, strategy, goals and objectives are formulated. Then the second stage of the study concerns the organization and operation of the unit and includes the supplies - raw materials, equipment and technology, staff and its organization and the final choice of location. Finally, a timetable for the implementation of each task is presented as well as the general budget of the project. The study concludes with a financial analysis of the hotel unit and an assessment of the investment as appropriate or not.
