Abstract
This paper examines the major issue of insurance in our country, focusing at the same time on the risk of longevity (longevity risk).
In the first part, the insurance consciousness of the Greeks is analyzed to preserve a sufficient income in the years of retirement and is compared with other countries. In the second part, the concept of longevity risk is analyzed to what extent we are prepared to deal with the increase in life expectancy. For this reason, we created a questionnaire, the purpose of which was to record respondents' answers regarding preserving sufficient income in retirement, their view on inflation, their investment strategies, etc. Through this questionnaire, we managed to measure the levels of retirement literacy for Greeks which are low.
