In the recent years there have been giant leaps the development of technology and the automotive sector could not lag behind these developments. Vehicle manufacturers are constantly implementing new technologies, one of which is autonomous parking. In this master’s thesis, an attempt was made to build a remote-controlled vehicle (miniature), which incorporates a Raspberry Pi microcomputer and performs autonomous parking. The vehicle is operated by an external device (laptop, desktop or mobile phone) which is connected to server who is located in the car. For the localization of the parking space, and consequently the successful parking, an ultrasonic sensor is used which is located on the right side of the vehicle. Modern tools were used to implement the software, such as: the Raspbian OS operating system, the Python (third version) programming language, and Visual Studio Code. During the tests of the vehicle, accuracy in the detection of obstacles within the scanning radius of the ultrasonic sensor and consequently success in the parking process are observed. A future development of this work would include the addition of more sensors, the enhancement of the vehicle with more possibilities in autonomous driving, such as centering in the lane, parallel movement alongside other parked vehicles and autonomous navigation between two points in space.
